Focus: How Sierra DigiTally Works
Sierra DigiTally Mobile app runs on Android devices; one of its objectives is to capture tallies accurately. It also provides the ability to print labels and create transactions, such as picking and shipping.
Sierra DigiTally is fast and accurate when measuring lumber; it's based on a "shoot-and-score" method using a scanner with its patented Tally Ruler: Sierra RapidScan.
Sierra DigiTally simplifies and speeds up tally operations:
- Operator holds the RapidScan Ruler against the lumber board to measure
- Scans the barcode mark corresponding to the width of the board
- The following automatically happen at once: (a) width is captured, (b) volume is computed, and (c) piece-count is added, (d) all data is saved.
Here's a quick demo with Unitech's HT330:
The result is faster data collection that becomes part of inventory records accessible for searching, reporting, and transacting. Five times faster than manual tallying, with ability to store, recalculate and use tally-data for multitude of applications, Sierra DigiTally empowers its users.
Length x Width piece-count tallies are required in shipping, manufacturing, order processing, and many other applications.
When customers do not need to capture detailed piece tallies, they can enter "block tally" for bundles, consisting of a total volume per bundle.
Once tallies are saved, they become permanent part of the records. Operators and managers can access, report, and create new bundles by "breaking" specific tallies from an existing bundle. And everyone knows what's in stock at any time.
