Receiving lumber and other products is a crucial part of the Sierra DigiTaly system where RapidScan method is utilized

 

When lumber shipment is received, it needs to be inspected, counted, and stored.   The following Sierra DigiTally features enable you to accomplish this important task effectively:

• Tally
• Label & Barcode
• Receive into Inventory

Receiving operations require efficiency and speed.   When the truck is unloaded, the lumber is tallied and labeled immediately.  In the Standard version of Sierra DigiTally, users are able to tally and label packs (see Tally and Barcode sections).     Sierra DigiTally's Inventory version provides the capability to receive lumber into the inventory as well.  In both the standard and inventory packages, it is possible to take advantage of Sierra DigiTally's functions offered for receiving products.

Receiving screen used in Sierra DigiTally Inventory package  is shown above.  Operator specifies a Purchase Order number, or receives by Vendor.  Data for each Pack, such as pieces, board-feet, Vendor's Pack#, etc. are entered.  It is also possible to use the Receive function in the Mobile Device to receive products into the inventory.
